Walk My Way is an initiative of Australian Lutheran World Service (ALWS) that gives people the opportunity to join a walking challenge – and raise money to support refugee kids to go to school!

The following message and challenge was received by a Queensland Principal recently.
It’s not how most educators would choose to spend the last weekend before holidays …but South Australian teachers, students and Principals have set a Walk My Way standard they reckon Queensland will struggle to match!
Together, they have raised $133,459 in our ALWS Walk My Way – enough to support 5,133 children in refugee camps and crisis to go to school! (Of course, we won’t mention the top fundraiser – our very own Christian Stern – is a Queensland teacher!)
Among the Lutheran schools who had principals, teachers, school pastors, or students – or all 4! – walking the talk in ALWS Walk My Way were:
- Concordia
- Cornerstone
- Encounter
- Endeavour
- Good Shepherd
- Immanuel
- Redeemer
- St John’s
- St Michael’s
- St Petri
- St Peters
- Tatachilla
- Calvary Kindergarten
… PLUS Living Waters (WA) and Good Shepherd (NT)
… PLUS Executive Director of Lutheran Education SA, NT & WA John Proeve!
Challenging the educators in walking the talk in SA were 23 Lutheran Pastors …
let’s see if Queensland can match that on 4 August!
What do you think Queensland?
Kind regards
Darren
