Last week, Peace Lutheran Primary School continued with the PBL (Project Based Learning) Refresh Module. They practiced the PBL Tuning Protocol developed by the Buck Institute. This protocol supported with much research is a structured 20 min protocol, which allows teacher teams to work with teams from other year levels to fine tune each other’s PBL Units. They also dived more into Authenticity of PBL and Driving Questions. The session is part of the PBL Refresh Module which is currently available to all our schools. It can be self-paced and blended virtually and face to face.
Some feedback included:
“It was so good to share and critique each other’s PBL in a fun and supportive way”
“The Process is really worthwhile”
“I understood much more about what good PBL looks like by going through the Tuning Protocol with colleagues from other year levels”
“A very worthwhile tool to improve our PBL units”
“I now feel that my colleagues from other year levels also own and support my PBL unit”
“How good is it to hear the “I Like” statements from my fellow colleagues – I couldn’t stop smiling”
“The process is better than others I have seen”
“We want to use this process with students”
“Look at all this great feedback to improve our unit based on the Gold Standard PBL”
