Over the next few weeks, we will share in greater detail many of the learnings from the recent highly successful New Zealand Contemporary Learning Tour.
A few comments from the attendees:
“Attending the Lutheran contemporary learning tour to NZ has been inspiring. It’s opened my eyes and rattled my cage in a way that is motivating me to make change both at a personal and school level. I would highly recommend it for any teacher or leader within our system.”
“Once in a lifetime opportunity to explore contemporary learning culture, pedagogy, best practice schools in a range of areas, to engage in provocative thinking, to build genuine and deep dialogue and reflection on our school’s journey”
“Come and explore a variety of different contemporary learning settings, with different values, identities and infrastructure to be inspired about your own!”
“This contemporary learning tour was inspirational and has given us all perspectives to drive change in our own settings. Our group were really united in their passion to make the lives of students all they could. Above all we were able to share more through great fellowship with likeminded colleagues.”
“Learning alongside like-minded educators is inspiring and invigorating. It opens a world of possibilities as well as consolidates what you know in your heart is good practice. It makes you question what you thought you knew and challenges you to consider that education is definitely not one size fits one. What a privilege it has been for me to have come and to know my principal thought I was worth the investment.”
“This tour is a visible and experiential way to challenge your thinking, inspire your creativity, and explore what’s possible in the contemporary learning space. It’s a special time to collaborate with colleagues, connect with other educators, and grow both personally and professionally.”
“The learning tours transform schools and give both inspiration and affirmation in this transformation journey”
“As an educator who is energised by new ideas and disruptive approaches to education I found the New Zealand Learning Tour informative and challenging. I recommend it to all educators who are seeking to do things differently and better. There is a wealth of people out there actually doing it, the kids they serve are thriving as a result. Go and have a look.”
“The New Zealand tour challenges and encourages all staff who attend to rethink pedagogy and structures in our schools. The why becomes very important as I thought about how we engage students in our schools.”
“The learning tour appears in the brochure as a tour of incredible schools, however it is more than this. The leaders/guides provide the participants with time to reflect on the transformative pedagogy in a daily basis and by the end of the week, you will have a deeper understanding of the contemporary journey, the culture and pedagogy the staff and students embrace.”
“The tour offered an assault on my school senses – what I believe schools to look like, sound like, feel like and be like.”
“The tour offered the space, time and conversations that enabled reflection, change of heart, internal and external wrestling, thought, filtering and prioritizing.”
“The tour offers a toolkit of changemakers to take home.”
