We ordered another 20 Learnometers which have been delivered to those Lutheran Schools that requested one or more.
Professor Stephen Heppell in the UK developed the small monitoring device (Learnometer) a few years ago that monitors a whole range of environmental factors that affect learning such as – light, sound, CO2, TVOCs, Microparticles etc. At the time they were designed to gather, monitor and relay data to help adjust conditions and some Lutheran Schools became part of a project. Obviously now they have taken on a whole extra life of their own in addressing Covid conditions.
They are about the size of a cigarette packet, easily connect to Wi-Fi and can seamlessly be moved around the school. The device incorporates very high quality sensors.
They also provide a wonderful learning opportunity for students to gather real data, collaborate with other schools and adjust conditions to suit their learning.
The cost is approx $640 AUD. The dashboard is easily accessed by phone or device to see how CO2 etc levels are trending in classrooms or other parts of the school. Here is a Stephen Heppell link about the devices. https://heppell.net/lom/
