Smiling widely whilst using broken Japanese, drinking ceremonial matcha and navigating Shinjuku station are vivid moments in my mind. As a family, going freestyle throughout Japan over the break provided opportunities to look beyond iconic locations, gathering perspective as we empathetically delved into the stories of the backstreets. As with all holidays, planning and preparation builds the excitement and anticipation of what is ahead. Time to travel, explore, gain new experiences and insights, share joys and celebrate. Holidays are awesome! Travel is a great teacher, and while the destination is valuable, it is within the journey itself where transformation happens.
The imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien unveiled the journey of Frodo, Bilbo and the Fellowship, as they set out in hope, excitement and enthusiasm on a journey of discovery together. Encountering challenges along the way gave rise to a strong sense of team, deep purpose and valuable shared learning.
Every child, family and staff member who has been called into a Lutheran learning community has a shared journey ahead. Each challenge we encounter along the way provides an opportunity to build a strong sense of team, deep purpose and valuable shared learning. Every learner has the opportunity to explore, gain new experiences and insights, share joys and celebrate…Lutheran schools are awesome! We set out in hope, excitement and enthusiasm on a journey of discovery and transformation together.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Let’s go!
Blessings as we serve, lead and learn together.
