This week in Brisbane, Learning Environments Australia –Qld Chapter held a twilight event at The Edge auditorium South Bank. It was a huge success with approximately 60 educators, education occupational therapists, designers and architects presenting, workshopping and prototyping. The focus was on highlighting key principles of school outdoor learning environments. It was great to have Lutheran Education speakers as well as Lutheran schools referred to by many of the presenters. The culminating Design Sprint Challenge was an enjoyable activity which involved prototyping and modelling key principles within a 3D model based on scenarios. Special mention goes out to Tamara Scutts from Immanuel Lutheran College who did a superb job presenting on the rich learning that occurs across the environmental center and forest areas at ILC. She was very well received and many wanted to connect with her and I am sure some visits are in the pipeline!
