A recent build transformation from a storage room to a highly agile design and stem centre. Last week’s visit to this new refurbishment at LORDS College, it was noted how it leverages some high quality contemporary learning physical properties:
– 270 degrees walls and windows and all tables are writable
– high ceilings, lots of light with appropriate air flow
– acoustically treated throughout the space
– all furniture is not fixed and moves effortlessly
– walls, cupboards and furniture can transform into bays
– resources such as laser cutters and 3D printers are within the space
– ac and usb outlets are in abundance
As well as some scheduled classes, it will be available to the whole college for use.
Thanks to Damian Jackson and Leah Haywood for the tour.
