On January 1 the Human Rights Act 2019 came into force with the newly established Queensland Human Rights Commission, which replaces the Anti-Discrimination Commission, administering the Act and having the power to receive and conciliate human rights complaints. The Human Rights Act protects 23 human rights including Division 3, Part 36:
