How can we authentically engage in reconciliation in our schools?
Last week the Service-Learning Retreat crew came back together both in person and on zoom to engage in some next steps planning and future thinking around reconciliation and the journey of our schools in this space.
Specifically, we have been exploring how the Service-Learning concepts could be an important tool when engaging in Reconciliation Action Plan goals and actions, using them to ensure authenticity and reciprocal relationships.
What now? What does this mean for your school?
We are looking to create a 2023 RAP Reference Group. A place where school-based RAP coordinators/contact people and importantly RAP school supporters/critical culture builders can come together to support one another in the process of creating their school RAPs, and importantly, support strategies around actioning the goals authentically in each school setting.
The purpose of this group is to support and strategise; we acknowledge the actual creation of RAPs will happen in each school setting. The group will be a place where people going through a similar process can ask questions, gain valuable insight from others, and nurture our commitment to reconciliation as Lutheran schools.
More details to come.
If in the meantime you have any questions – please feel free to email me.
