Schools including Concordia Lutheran College, St Peters Lutheran College, Faith Lutheran College Redlands and Plainland and others are implementing some Gold Standard PBL Design Workshops for teachers. There has also been an increase in middle years engagement as the research continues to support the contemporary experiential inquiry based pedagogy.
Concordia Lutheran College began their formal launch of their PBL initiative with two secondary departments and the P-12 college leadership team recently. Further episodes are rolling across the 130 staff P-12, 3 campuses. Everyone brought rich collaboration, creativity, courage and commitment to the day to enable planning and discussions. This supported the start of some beautiful transdisciplinary PBL enhanced by design thinking as a key part of their Contemporary Learning journey.
In turn, this will undoubtedly continue to provide rich, meaningful and authentic learning for all.
All 130 staff were provided by Anton Prinsloo (Head of College) with their own copies of PBL books for Christmas holiday reading as well as preparation time before Thursday. Thus this first of many events and episodes was supercharged with a vigor of making a real difference to learning. Congratulations to all!!
