During the week we had the opportunity to engage with some of the High Tech High students, staff, academics, producer and director from the highly acclaimed and awarded Contemporary Learning film Most Likely to Succeed. A number of us already know some of the staff from past California Learning tours however we were so fortunate to have Brian and Samantha join in today, years on after graduating. It was truly beautiful to listen to their stories and their fondness, energy and passion for the rich contemporary model of learning which was portrayed in the film. Brian is now a Film Director with Warner Brothers and Samantha just finished her PHD in Molecular Biology and is now leading a team. They discussed how their schooling has changed their lives and Samantha so much wants to impact change in education by becoming a Professor of Education. Samantha sent me an email after our zoom and we are looking forward to her and Brian connecting with Lutheran Schools in the near future. The recording and supporting information will soon be found at the site What School Could Be

Hi Derek!
Thank you for coming to the session! It is so awesome for me to see how people are using what they saw in the film to do so much good! It brought tears to MY eyes reconnecting with everyone and remembering how much HTH and Brian Delgado (teacher) did for me and others. I will never get tired of talking about HTH and would love to meet with your staff! I also would enjoy hearing about the work you guys do. Ever since HTH and the film I’ve been passionate about education and have my sights set on becoming a professor someday, so I would love to learn from you!
Let me know whenever you would like to set up a zoom! I’m looking forward to speaking soon. Also thank you so much for everything you and your staff do for students. This work is so important!
Best,
Sam
