Last Friday and Saturday, the Principals and Deputy Principals of the five Bushwhackers schools met at St James Lutheran College in Hervey Bay for a time of collegiality, sharing and learning. Luke Schoff was the perfect host. Dinner on the Friday night at Café Balaena was a time of storytelling and laughter. The owner of the restaurant is a graduate of St Peters and our waiter was a past student of Pacific. Both spoke incredibly positively of their experiences in Lutheran education.
Along with a tour of the College, topics explored over the two days included among other things:
· Uniform policy change processes
· Pupil-free week activities that were successful
· Supporting the growing number of students with needs
· Embedding teaching and learning change
The Principals meet again in August, this time hosted by Mark Blackwell at Peace Lutheran Primary School in Gatton.
