Vanessa Noonan
Director – Learning and Innovation
I am honoured to be part of the Lutheran education family again. Since my last service at Faith Lutheran College, Redlands in 2013, I have explored other education sectors and am now looking forward to growing the LEQ Learning and Innovation portfolio further. Yesterday marks my first professional day in 17 years not being in a school setting and although the way of working is refreshing, I will miss the daily interactions with students, staff, and parents.
Recently, I attended the Contemporary Learning Tour in New Zealand and witnessed best practices in innovation across teaching and learning, curriculum design, learning space design, and novel approaches to leadership in schools. For those QLD schools who attended, I look forward to partaking in your journey whereby we charge ourselves professionally to translate our learnings into practice. I am committed to connecting with each of the schools in the QLD region and working collaboratively with educators and leaders to support the strategic intentions of each school pertaining to contemporary learning practices.
I would like to share some insightful frameworks that have supported my professional work as a teacher and a leader throughout my career. These frameworks may be reaffirming, a light read, or possibly something new to explore. I hope there is some learning in them for all of us. I carry a deep-rooted understanding of The Learner First Framework and New Pedagogies for Deep Learning Framework, a renowned set of pedagogical frameworks and metrics to support schools to measure their deep learning and contemporary progression across dimensions such as learning partnerships, inquiry, environments, contributively learning, self-understanding, and six-global competencies. If you are interested to learn more about how these frameworks may serve the work you are executing and leading, please reach out.
