A number of Lutheran Schools are screening “New School” the new Australian documentary looking at Contemporary Schooling. It is pleasing to notice the variety of ways schools are leveraging the film and accompanying resources with staff.
Lutheran Education is the first sector worldwide to be given the rights to view the new Australian Documentary on Contemporary Schooling. Quite fitting and humbling as you may have recognised all the featured educationalists (who are friends of Lutheran Education) and their respective locations which form part of our contemporary transformation professional learning.
The Film Company Moonshine and Learning Environments Australasia have provided a link below of the film “New School” for Lutheran Education to use.
Our current licence enables only your staff and your council/board to view the film. If you plan to screen it to a wider audience including parents and community members then please contact us to arrange a suitable licence.
According to our licence arrangements it is strictly prohibited to copy the film or distribute the viewing links further than your staff, council and board. It is important that viewers who receive a link understand that they are not to share this further.
For the purpose of research, we have been asked to keep an approximate number of views by each school, so if you could help us with this that would be greatly appreciated.
It will be very important to contextualise any viewing of the film with your staff and we would suggest watching the film yourself first (it’s 34 minutes). If you need any ideas or support in terms of introducing the film and generating discussion afterwards then please get in contact with me and I will be able to provide support. You may choose to push this on to a learning leader or the person who is leading the contemporary change in your school and have them manage the viewing and discussion with your staff.

A new screen will open with a thumbnail of “Innovation High”. You can then click to watch the film.
We have recently also added 10 videos of Stephanie McConnell (Principal of Lindfield Learning Village) answering related questions by Lutheran Educators. These can be accessed in the Videos option on the vimeo website.
