The Covid Reflective Pivot Workshop continues to be very popular in enabling schools to excavate, reflect and translate into collaborative action in contemporary schooling. A large number of overviews and implementations are being reserved and locked in by many Lutheran Schools. The flexibility and dynamic nature of the process, delivery and engagement has been a great drawcard enabling more schools to take it up. A school who engaged earlier this week from 4pm to 6pm passed on a few comments below:
I thought yesterday’s meeting was of huge benefit to me. It brought back all of the accomplishments that we, as a Faith team, had made during a very uncertain time. We learnt and grew together. It brought us closer together as a team and it was so wonderful to hear other year levels had the same feelings of success and excitement as we did in Year 2.
It was a wonderful way for us each to put forward our feelings of growth and development and opened our eyes up to so many other possibilities and choices that we could be making to ensure our children are highly motivated and engaged in their learning. Sometimes we get bogged down in the comfortableness of ‘how things have always been’. Yesterday showed me that we are all prepared to step outside the box a little and start to ‘reinvent’ and find new ways to deliver our crowded curriculum.
Thank you for organising yesterdays ‘debrief’ as it has really instilled a feeling of excitement in me that, as whole college team, we are on the same page and we really do want to improve our delivery of the curriculum in new and exciting ways.
Derek and Kim were great facilitators – clear in what the tasks were, carefully listening to our suggestions, patient with us as we considered what was being asked of us.
The time frame was good, the exercises (video, graph, other visuals) were easy and made organising our thoughts clear.
While we were a little shy, the opportunity was there for everyone to have a voice, safely.
I think we could use this model in some of our meetings etc to draw out information and move forward.
I thought that the whole process that Derek and Kim took us through was very valuable. It really made us think about what Online Learning allowed us to do and how we can move forward with this in our classrooms. It was amazing to see how similarly we all think about what we have learnt and what we can achieve in the future.
The projects that have been identified through this process are exciting for our school and given that they were ‘chosen’ by our staff makes it even more amazing. These projects will allow us to move forward to benefit our students and our teaching practice.
I found the exercise valuable and I am pleased that we were able to be part of it!
I really liked the chance to engage with everyone. Any chance to come together and discuss what we have done and what we plan to do is beneficial for everyone. I liked seeing the planning tools used to quickly align our thoughts with a pathway to achieving change. I’m really looking forward to discussing the identified areas of change in smaller groups.
I enjoyed yesterday’s opportunity to create specific goals moving forward from COVID-19. It was such an exhausting, anxious, challenging time but I learnt so much throughout it. I particularly enjoyed hearing parent feedback on their perspectives, yesterday. And it was great to share our thoughts together as a group they way we did. It is exciting to have the opportunity to create a clear focus of the reinvention we will now undertake because of it.
I just love seeing the way that God works all things for good.
