Queensland Lutheran school students from 2018, Olivia Wormwell from Redeemer Lutheran College and Max Orchard from Grace Lutheran College, were two of only 30 students from across Queensland who have recently been named “Distinguished Academic Achievers”.
This award is for students who, in being awarded a QCE, demonstrated exceptionally high achievement across a diverse range of learning options and must meet the following criteria:
- an OP 1
- an A on the QCS Test
- Very High Achievements in at least 20 semesters of Authority subjects
- additional tertiary entrance information, including QCS Test performance
- additional level of achievement information
- total QCE credit, including credit achieved for Authority subjects, university subjects, VET diplomas and advanced diplomas.

Additionally, 31 Queensland Lutheran school students in a group of 1073 Year 12 graduates received Certificates of Academic Commendation. They were awarded this honour for achieving Very High Achievements (VHAs) in the equivalent of at least six Authority subjects (i.e. at least 24 semesters at VHA standard).
Well done to all Year 12 students and their supporting family, friends and school community. No matter which path they take, learning at Lutheran schools is about preparing students for their life beyond the classroom.
