We are creatures of love… God loves us and gives us the unique difference of our existence… while God’s love is universally given, it is also uniquely given to each one of us in our own particularity. Natalia Mirandiuc
Equip & Connect
I am thrilled to report that during these last few weeks we have had teachers complete the last of their face to face Equip & Connect experiences!
The above quote captures both the spirit and the content of some of the work we have been doing. It has been wonderful to work with teachers who have been open to being vulnerable and authentic as they continue their journey as teachers in Lutheran schools. The sessions have been characterized by an openness, a keenness to explore Lutheran perspectives, and an expectation about the opportunities to learn and grow with their students.
Monica Altmann’s expertise in the space of pedagogy and particularly inquiry processes, has been appreciated by teachers in Equip. In exploring what it means to be a human being in Equip 2, teachers have also keenly engaged in the concept-based approach we have taken to inquiring into the theology.
As teachers have grappled with the expectation of e-portfolios, I have been blessed to see high levels of engagement and a keenness to show growing understanding of Lutheran theology and its application to thinking and practice in our schools. Teachers have expressed appreciation for the support of school-based mentors in this space and I am thankful for this also.
Today as I reflect on the formation & accreditation space in 2020, I give thanks for every teacher who has accepted the call to serve the young people in our schools, and it is my prayer that every person in our communities will grow in their belief and experience that God’s love is uniquely directed towards them!
