Outdoor Education
One of the unique aspects of a Lutheran education is our commitment to outdoor education.
Time in the outdoors fosters a young person’s respect for the natural world, reflective practice, critical thinking and creative problem-solving. Our outdoor education program provides countless opportunities for a young person’s physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development.

When outdoor education is paired with the Lutheran values of compassion, service, courage, and hope in a dedicated program, students learn more about themselves and their peers, their capabilities as individuals and as team players, and their unlimited potential.
One such outdoor education program is St Peters Lutheran College’s Ironbark experience. At Ironbark, students discover:
- Personal strength through experiential learning opportunities
- The value of our environment
- An expanded worldview without mobiles, TV and computer access
- How to face fears and challenge themselves
- How to relate to others in their peer community
- A deeper understanding of Christian values and teaching in relation to God, the world and the environment, and their relationships
