Our Early Years
Whether you’re looking for an early learning centre, family day care, kindergarten, or a limited hours care service, we’re here to support your family.
Eligible families can claim Child Care Subsidy (government-funded financial assistance to support the cost of childcare) for all services except Sessional Kindergarten.
Early Learning Centres
For children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, LEQ Early Learning Centres provide government-approved long-day care programs. Our qualified early childhood teachers and educators are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards to support children to achieve early learning and developmental milestones in a play-based environment. Our professional teams have a genuine passion for children’s wellbeing, interests and needs.
Family Day Care
LEQ’s Family Day Care offers flexible education and care programs in the home of a registered educator. Available to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, education and care can be available on weekdays, evenings and weekends, and before or after school (depending on the service).
Each Family Day Care has a unique fee structure, but all are registered with a Family Day Care Scheme and are required to comply with National Education & Care Law and Regulations, and the National Quality Standards.
Sessional Kindergartens
Kindergarten (also known as ‘kindy’) provides a play-based learning environment where children are supported by qualified early childhood teachers to develop and grow their strengths and interests. Along with the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG), children are supported to reach age-appropriate milestones, to support a successful transition to Prep.
Key focus areas include:
- Developing understanding
- Fostering curiosity
- Developing social skills
- Expanding motor skills
- LEQ’s sessional kindergartens run either three days a week or five days a fortnight, during school hours (e.g. 8.15am – 2.30pm) in school terms.
Children typically start kindergarten the year before they commence Prep. The earliest they can start is the year when they turn 4 years old by 30 June.
