Recently, I travelled to Alice Springs to meet with regional and national Directors along with the members of the Board of Lutheran Education Australia.
I have always believed one of the great joys of working in Lutheran Education is the fact we are part of a much bigger mission of the Church, and for the national leadership team, meeting and experiencing the work of Lutheran Schools and Early Childhood Services in action is essential. It helps us reconnect with mission and our bigger ‘why we do what we do’.
In Alice, we had the privilege of visiting and meeting Principals of two schools, Living Waters Lutheran School and Yirara College, led magnificently by Lisa Goldsworthy and Wesley Meurant respectively.
As they led us around tours of their school campus, passion for and commitment to Christian witness was everywhere. The Principals candidly shared their challenges – some common across the education industry, some unique to their contexts – as well as the joys of leading learning communities in the Red Centre.
With ACLE7 fast approaching, we will gather all together with our brothers and sisters in education from across the country to catch up, swap stories, and learn and share from each other’s experiences as we embrace a future where we are all ‘Free to Flourish’. I look forward to seeing many of you there, and sharing the great joy of working together towards our shared mission.
God Bless.
