Gold, Gold, Gold to Lutheran Education Queensland
LEQ congratulates all eight (8) graduands and current students from Lutheran schools in Queensland who have represented Australia with distinction at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Their performances were outstanding and resulted in the eight athletes collectively winning 7 Gold, 2 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals which would have placed LEQ 15th on the medal tally, ahead of the likes of traditional sporting powerhouses Hungary, South Korea, Kenya, Spain and Jamaica.

Katie Haywood (St Andrews Lutheran College, Tallebudgera 2017) – Top 40, 20km Walk
Rosie Malone (Trinity Lutheran College, Ashmore 2015) – Quarter Finalist Hockey
Kaylee McKeown (Pacific Lutheran College, Meridan Plains 2018 and St Paul’s Lutheran Primary School, Caboolture 2012) – 3 Gold and 1 Bronze Medals Swimming
Mollie O’Callaghan (St Peters Lutheran College Springfield current year 12) – 2 Gold and 1 Bronze Medals Swimming
Ariarne Titmus (St Peters Lutheran College, Indooroopilly 2018) – 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze Medals Swimming
Alyce Wood (Immanuel Lutheran College, Buderim 2009) – 5th and 8th Pair and Individual Canoe Sprint
Melissa Wu (Trinity Lutheran College 2004) – 1 Bronze Medal Diving
