Supporting our Victorian friends and colleagues

It has brought such joy hearing initial stories conveyed to me of the conversations being had between the Business Managers and Principals from LEQ and their ‘buddies’ in Victoria’s stage 4 lockdown. Even classes of students are now connecting with and attempting to support fellow students from the COVID-hit state. One phone conversation summary, emailed to me on Tuesday afternoon, spoke of the value of the learning that the Queensland Principal experienced by just listening on the end of a phone. Very few words were needed. Just a listening ear.

God has richly blessed us in Queensland through this health emergency. He has provided for us through the politicians, the health professionals, and through emergency services folk who are skilled and committed to protecting us and the state from the spread of infection.

Likewise, He provides us with all we need to be a blessing to our friends and colleagues in Victoria. Thank you to all who volunteered so quickly and readily when the call to action was placed. We filled the buddies for all 15 Victorian Lutheran schools in a few hours!

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others,  as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.                                                                                                                                                                    1 Peter 4:10
